EDSP 4010G Introduction to Instructional Issues for Students with Severe Disabilities
Examination of key issues related to the design, implementation, and evaluation of effective educational services for learners with severe disabilities. Emphasis on population characteristics, current service delivery issues, legislation and litigation, initial instructional design strategies, and student level instructional issues.S tudents also are introduced to professional development strategies which will be continued throughout the program of study. Students must complete a professional development plan through participation in a field experience cohort as a component of this course. 3 credit hours.
o Tues/ 5PM – 7:45PM/ On-Line synchronous delivery using Microsoft Live Meeting.


EDSP 6990 Assessment in Low Incidence Disabilities
Prerequisite: consent of the department. Topic will vary from semester to semester. Section number will correspond with the credit hours to be earned. Course may be repeated for a maximum of six semester hours within particular degree program. 3 credit hours. o Mon/ 5PM – 7:45PM/ On-Line synchronous delivery using Microsoft Live Meeting

To apply and register for courses at UNO:

New students or students who have missed a semester must visit http://admissions.uno.edu/app.cfm for application information. Once accepted you may register through the WEBSTAR link on the UNO homepage ( http://www.uno.edu ). All current UNO students can register for these classes as they usually do through WEBSTAR. Once registered you will be entered into your course’s Blackboard site. It is important that you check your course Blackboard site the week before classes to make sure you are ready to attend your first class.

Unless otherwise noted, all courses offered above are delivered online.

These courses are offered via interactive videoconferencing on the web at http://lalidc.uno.edu. Students MUST have weekly access to a high speed internet connection (DSL, Cable or better), a web camera, and headset with microphone (both available for about $40.00 each at numerous local retailers like Best Buy, Office Depot, Wal-Mart). If you register for an online class you need to download the free Microsoft Live Meeting software on your home computer (you will need a web camera, headset with microphone, PC [not Mac] computer, and cable or DSL internet connection), so read the LiveMeeting tips on this web site.
